Book on Climate Change Launched
On an auspicious ceremony organized to celebrate 40th annual day of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Hon'ble Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Devendra Poudel launched a book on Climate Change Situation in Nepal: Impacts and Adaptation Initiations published by NAST-Nepal Climate Change Knowledge Management Center (NCCKMC). The book written in Nepali language contains 14 scholarly articles on various themes that reflect the current situation of climate change and its impacts in Nepal along with important adaptation and mitigation measures taken by the country. Speaking at the ceremony Hon'ble Minister urged the academic community to publish the research findings and books that would be invaluable to evidence based policy making and the future generations of the country. The Vice-Chancellor of NAST, Dr. Sunil Babu Shrestha thanked all the authors, reviewers, editors and sub editors for their valuable contributions in publishing the book. He also stated that NCCKMC is continuously publishing such books and IEC materials and distributing to the local communities of remote areas of the country. In addition, NAST is also conducting various research activities on climate change and its impacts, adaptation and mitigation measures.
